I applied for H1-B amendemnt with premium processing.
But i am unable to see any updates with my reciept number, i mean my current status still the same as before.

Thanks LT. I have to be in india for a wedding in the second week of sept. I thought being valid is good enough. Where did you find the six month passport validity needed for travel. I can get it renewed while I'm in India but I'm not sure how long it will get it to be renewed in India. I'm planning to be in India for three weeks. Thanks again.

We met our san jose(CA) congressman Mike Honda (http://honda.house.gov/). We had good session with his staff. His office is in the process of writting a letter to Backlog centers asking them for speeding up approvals.Their office is well aware of backlog issues. Once they get a response back from DOL, they would let us know.

And is it possible to ask Honda's office to urge DOL to have some transparency about the process, so that people know what the heck is going on at the processing centers? Right now it's a total black box!

Are you saying that a child will age out if the child's 485 cannot be immediately adjudicated due to retrogression and the child is over 21 when that 485 is eventually processed?
Yes assuming after the deduction of the time it took to adjudicate the I140 the child is still over 21. If this occurs the childs application will automatically be transferred to the respective family based category and processed that way and we know how long the waits are for those dates to become current.

Nice work Anders. Personally, I pan for the stuff on the ground and leave the in air stuff static.That's probably a good approach, panning should be eaiser in the slower corners too.

and i was only going to recieve 200 dlls for that page, i know it WAS my first job , but i've learned the lesson and i'm going to ask the first half of the price at the begining and the other half at the end :evil:
the only thing makes me happy is that i almost make my 100th post :cowboy: :P

Has anybody tried booking an emergency apointment? I was checking that some time back when I wanted to go urgently and it says that it is for people wanting to visit US for urgent family matters and not for people who are currently in the US and visiting home country. Anybody has tried this (going from US to get visa stamped in India in an urgent situation?).

but for H4 i dont' know coz we will be in US and would it really really be safe to mail our original petition to India we being here.
Mine was a different situation i entered US without my petition papers as i had forgotten them. I realized it only when i switched my company that i didn't have my petition papers with me. I later on got i fedexed by ma parents.

Krishnam70, they require police certificates for any country where you lived in the last 10 (not 5!) years. Also, fingerprints must be sent to FBI to get "certified", and that can take 10-12 weeks nowadays.
NEVER bother the consulate with questions regarding your application status. Give it at least a year since they accept your documents. If you can't wait for so long, google "CAIPS notes" and use this process to get info about your application. However, if you have specific questions regarding your application/situation, the consulate will respond within 1-2 business days. Just make sure to include your file number (you'll be provided with it upon acceptance of your documents) at the top of each email message or response. I notified the consulate about my FBI fingerprints delay and asked some questions specific to my case. When I reviewed my CAIPS notes, I found out that they keep track of all communication, including email.
I'm almost done with my Canadian PR process and moving with my family to Calgary in October.
I am from india and a Canadian PR holder who has done successful landing. I did not provide a police certificate from India.
